Former Eagles bassist Randy Meisner turns 73 years old today (March 8th). The Eagles album On the Border had some great songs on it. The first single was Already Gone, it just barely made it to top 40, James Dean was the second and that didn’t make it. Confidence for single number 3 as it didn’t rock: “Best of My Love” Randy Meisner says he was surprised at it’s success:
“When we released that I didn’t think it would be as big as it was. I thought it was too mellow. I was always more into rock ‘n’ roll. something jumpin’ a little bit. I never thought it would be a hit, and then it was. The quality of the song was good, but I just didn’t figure it would go that big.”
