I wonder who spilled the beans

While the press release on Saturday announcing the postponement of The Rolling Stones North American concert tour mentions that Mick Jagger needs “medical treatment,” info on just what his undisclosed illness might be has been hard to come by.

On Sunday, someone close to the band explained that Jagger is not ill but suffered “a physical injury as a result of his strenuous pre-tour preparations. Doctors have told him to take it easy and to concentrate on his recovery.”

An interesting, and very hopeful, report came out also on Sunday via an unlikely source — Steven Van Zandt of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. The guitarist tweeted that he’s been told “by someone who knows” that Jagger’s ailment “is thankfully temporary and insignificant.” He adds, “The Rolling Stones’ immortal endurance continues to inspire all of us!”

One possible source is hinted at in the post’s final line — “Meanwhile, catch my interview with Keith [Richards] on YouTube this week. Strangely, the original tweet seems to have since been deleted and replaced with just the heads up about the Keith interview.
