Fleetwood Mac‘s Christine McVie doesn’t seem to optimistic about the band working together again.

Speaking to Rolling Stone she says, “Well, not as we know it. I don’t know. It’s impossible to say. We might get back together, but I just couldn’t say for sure.”

She adds that she’s not “physically up for it. I’m in quite bad health. I’ve got a chronic back problem which debilitates me. I stand up to play the piano, so I don’t know if I could actually physically do it. What’s that saying? The mind is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

And she’s not alone. She says ex-husband and band bassist John McVie also has “health issues, so I don’t know if he would be up for it. You’d have to ask him.”

Asked about Mick Fleetwood‘s desire to do one more tour with Lindsey Buckingham, who was booted from the band in 2018, she says, “I’d always want Lindsey back. He’s the best. [Replacements] Neil [Finn] and Mike [Campbell] were such a cheerful couple, but Lindsey was missed. I’m quite happy being at home. I don’t know if I ever want to tour again. It’s bloody hard work.”

In the meantime, Christine has released the previously unreleased orchestral version of “Songbird” off her forthcoming album, Songbird (A Solo Collection), which will be out on June 24th.
