Robert Plant is open to the idea of recording a third album with Alison Krauss following 2007’s Raising Sand and 2021’s Raise the Roof.

He tells Billboard, “I can’t see any reason why not. I suppose if we wait another 14 years it could be a bit dicey for me, to be honest. I might find it a little bit difficult hitting a top C. But we can say it really works well, and we enjoy each other and that’s a great thing — so it seems like a great idea.”

Plant has also gotten a kick out of once again being nominated with Alison for a Grammy in a country category. “Going Where the Lonely Go” off their latest album, Raise the Roof, is up for Best Country Performance by Duo/Group. “The idea of us being considered to be a country duet is fascinating. The thing is, a nomination is a nomination — the very fact that it’s been recognized that we’ve had a good time is more than I could imagine.

“I didn’t get many Grammys…so to be nominated as a country duet is out of my normal radar. It’s great. I love it, and I also know that we did a pretty good job. I learned a lot, and continue to learn, which is what I want to do. I do think that’s pretty cool.”

Plant has won eight Grammy Awards, five with Alison for Raising SandAlbum of the Year; Best Contemporary Folk/Americana Album; Record of the Year; Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals; and Best Country Collaboration with Vocals.

The Grammy Awards will be handed out on February 5th at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The show will air on CBS and stream live on Paramount+.
