Shake that Vitamin Bottle

Pete Townshend continues to work on the music for the new Who album in London, while Roger Daltrey is elsewhere, trying to wrap his head around Pete’s lyrics. Pete has been recording guitar parts and percussion, including a shaken vitamin bottle. He says one of the songs is about guns, a subject about which he admits he knows nothing.

Roger Daltrey talks about his approach to singing Pete Townshend’s lyrics:

“I can always identify the ones which will make really good Who songs. But sometimes it takes me a while to understand where Pete’s coming from and understand how I’m gonna climb into it. Because otherwise it sounds like he’s given me a solo album of his and I don’t want to do that.”

They hope to have the album out before The Who tour starts on May 7th in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
