And They Helped

Boston’s second album, Don’t Look Back, was released on August 2nd, 1978. The title track was put together in a different way than the usual process. It was worked up in rehearsal rather than Tom Scholz presenting a finished demo to the band. The late Boston singer Brad Delp explains how their second album’s title track,”Don’t Look Back,” was not written in the usual way.

“‘Don’t Look Back’ was more or less worked up during rehearsal, which was a little unusual for us, because generally Tom would record the basic tracks himself and then present the song to the band. — maybe not finished, but a lot more finished than that one was. So that one I was involved in right from scratch. A lot of the other tunes I would come in after the rhythm tracks were all done.”
