Journey drummer Steve Smith turns 65 today (Aug 21). Sometimes songs are inspired by relationship problems. Not necessarily Steve’s but the song “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” by Journey is based on the personal struggles of an unnamed band member. It was on Frontiers in 1983 written by Jonathan Cain and Steve Perry. Here is Jonathan Cain:
