When David Bowie heard Stevie Ray Vaughn play guitar he knew he wanted him on his new album; “Let’s Dance” in 1983. The song “Modern Love” was huge but David was a bit disappointed. Not in SRV but in the backing vocals.
“Always disappointed that it wasn’t more Little Richard. It should have been, in terms of the vocal backings. But never mind, it was not bad.”
