Ya Ya

Fifty years ago today (Wednesday), The Rolling Stones played two shows at Madison Square Garden in New York that were recorded for their second live album, Get Yer Ya-Yas Out!

Two more shows were also recorded the next day, and combined result was an album that cemented their reputation as “The World’s Greatest Rock n’ Roll Band.”

Mick Jagger recently explained that it’s his favorite of the band’s many live recordings.

“I always say Get Yer Ya-Yas Out. It was just a really good show and it was a really good tour and there was a lot of really good playing. I mean, it was an exciting night and it was captured well.”
