Medical May

Brian May is not only overwhelmed with all the outpouring of love and support he’s received since announcing Monday that he recently had a small heart attack, but in a way, he says it’s almost as if he passed.

“I sort of feel like I died and yet I was able to come to the funeral and see all the tributes and stuff. I often think that at funerals. I don’t know if you think that, you know, all these people who come and say these wonderful things about the person that’s gone, but you can’t hear it or she can’t hear it, So I’m lucky, I got to hear it, so my life is complete.Thank you, thank you, thank you. That’s all I can say, for the fantastic amount of love you’ve given me. I really appreciate it. I will never forget it.”

Brian May has been asked by his cardiologist to spread the word to anyone who is having, or thinks they’re having, a heart attack. Here is Brian May:

“Do not be afraid of coming into hospital. Apparently there are so many people out there who are having heart attacks, or suspected heart attacks and not going into hospital. And, by the time they get there, the complications make it impossible to save them. And, the other thing I have to say is the incredible angioplasty treatment is unbelievable, and the success rate of it is incredibly high now and totally comparable with the open-heart surgery, which for so many years was the supreme thing. DON’T LEAVE IT – If you think you’re having a heart attack, get in the system, get seen straight away.”
