Too Expensive

The long-awaited reissue of Tom Petty‘s 1994 album, Wildflowers, is out today. Petty recorded 25 songs for it over a few years in the early ’90s, but only 15 made the final cut.

Here is Tom Petty onWildflowers originally being an double album.

“When it was all done and we were listening to it, I thought, ‘It’s very long.’ But, it was really hard to take them off because I really was attached to them. And I did take them off when I heard what the record would cost to buy it, It would have been extremely expensive because of the two CDs. So, let’s just take off 10 and… So, you know, that was a hard decision. That probably took up three months figuring out what goes off and what stays.”
