Sting is the latest artist to sell off his publishing.
The report is that the deal with Universal Music Group is worth $250 million and covers all of his work with The Police and his over 35-year solo career.
Sting says, “It is absolutely essential to me that my career’s body of work have a home where it is valued and respected. Not only to connect with longtime fans in new ways but also to introduce my songs to new audiences, musicians and generations.”
The deal with Universal is a natural pairing for the 70-year-old Sting, as the company has released all of his solo albums and the entire Police catalog.
