David Lee Roth not only reportedly retired from performing, now he’s closed his tattoo skin care company, Ink the Original.

The line was created to preserve, protect and highlight tattoos and keep them from fading, but visitors to the website are redirected to a page that reads: “First, our favorite restaurant, the corner bookstore, now us. What a long great trip it’s been.”

Roth used the phrase, “What a long great trip it’s been,” made famous in the Grateful Dead song “Truckin’,” in his statement mourning the death of Eddie Van Halen in October 2020.

When he announced the formation of the company in 2018, he said it took upwards of $7 million to start it with 34 employees in offices in New York and Los Angeles.
