Billy Idol still hasn’t recovered from a sinus infection that forced him to back out as the opener on Journey‘s Freedom tour.
He tweets, “Had further sinus procedure but now need to have the IV treatment as MRSA I have is resistant to oral antibiotics… Let’s see if this works… probably will… think positive!”
MRSA [PR: MUR-suh] stands for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, a cause of staph infection.
When Idol announced last month that he had to pull out of the Journey tour he said, “I haven’t felt like myself since December with a sinus infection that won’t respond to medication. It has worsened to the point where I have no choice but to have a procedure, which I expect will put me on a path to recovery soon.”
On February 23rd he said he’d completed “part two of my sinus surgery — a procedure to remove infection and blood clots.”
Idol’s place on the tour was taken over by Toto, who were already booked to open the second half of the tour.
