Steven Tyler returned to the stage for the first time in two years Sunday night when he hosted his annual Grammy Viewing Party at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California.

He did a solo piano version of “Dream On,” and later joined Jessie J on a set-closing version of “Walk This Way.” Jessie filled in for Miley Cyrus who was supposed to perform but she tested positive for COVID.

The event raised money for his Janie’s Fund, a partnership with Youth Villages aimed at helping girls overcome abuse and trauma. And, the “Dream On” piano he uses on tour sold at auction $700,000. And a photo with Tyler at the event taken by celebrity photographer Andy Gotts sold for $100,000.

Among the celebs in attendance were Billy Gibbons, Dee Snider and Richie Sambora.

As for life during the pandemic, Tyler tells Variety, “It was strange and I was on an island somewhere out to sea. I was just as scared as anyone else. I went through a lot of things myself. It wasn’t all honey and let’s go get some yogurt and go swimming and see the sharks. It was a lot of stuff going on.”

Tyler and Aerosmith will do three more of their Deuces are Wild residencies in Las Vegas this year with the first one getting underway on June 17th at Park MGM.
