Wolfgang Van Halen has finally commented on all the various Van Halen tribute tour stories generated over the past week by David Lee Roth, Joe Satriani and Jason Newsted.
Wednesday night he quote-tweeted a comment that said “He ‘had’ his tour. His dad just died, maybe that obese slob could pay respect and go on tour with Roth?” and added “This is what my mentions have been like the past week. It’s great. You’re all great. Just popping in to say there is no Van Halen without Pop.”
Less than an hour he removed the tweet and wrote, “Deleted it. More trouble than it’s worth. The childish arguments will continue with or without my input. I truly don’t care. Just leave me the [heck] out of it. I’ll always do right by Pop and that’s all that matters.”
Wolfgang replaced original bassist Michael Anthony when Van Halen reunited with David Lee Roth in 2007.
