David Crosby‘s touring days may not be behind him.

When recently asked by a student in a journalism class at Golden High School in Golden, Colorado if he planned to “tour anymore,” he said, “No. I’m not, because I’m 80. It’s because I’m old. Being on a bus tour is a daunting task. It’s very hard. It takes it out of you.”

But now he tweets, “There’s always the chance that I’m lying about this.”

Crosby has been very vocal about not performing during the pandemic, saying, “Believe me, I want to play so badly I can taste it. But I think the people going out now are making a bad mistake. These gigantic, indoor, maskless, jammed together, face-to-face shows are dangerous. Yes, folks are desperate for money, but these are spreader events.”

And he also said he knows he doesn’t have many shows left in him due to tendonitis in both hands, which affects his guitar playing.

But, with a new album on the way, his sixth since 2014, there’s a chance he’ll want to get out there and do a few shows to promote it.

Crosby, who turns 81 on August 14th, is just getting over COVID.
