Tony Banks said the final Genesis tour was great, but he won’t miss the road that much.
Banks told Classic Rock that the audiences were “very enthusiastic” and that “it’s a nice way to round it all off” even though Phil Collins son Nic had to be on the drum kit.
Banks added that “[Playing live is] not the reason I’m in this business. I just wanted to write music, and ended up playing my own stuff because no one else would, I suppose. I would have quite liked being a Burt Bacharach-type figure, more in the background.”
Genesis played their final show March 26th in London.
