Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush reunited on stage at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado Wednesday.

Lee and Lifeson took part in the second of two concerts marking the 25th anniversary of the Comedy Central series South Park, joining Primus and the show’s co-creator Matt Stone on drums to perform “Closer to the Heart.” Watch a fan-shot video of the reunion on YouTube.

It’s the first time that Lee and Lifeson have performed together on stage since drummer Neil Peart died in January 2020 and the first time they performed a Rush song together since their last tour in 2015.

Rush have a strong connection to South Park, as they’ve been mentioned in many episodes, and they appeared in 2011 where they did a parody of Elton John’s “Candle in the Wind” re-titled “Like a Fart in the Wind.”

You’ll be able to see the reunion on cable Saturday night, as highlights from both shows will air as South Park: The 25th Anniversary Concert on Comedy Central, which is the day the show debuted in 1997.

Geddy and Alex will come together again next month for two Taylor Hawkins tribute shows — September 3rd in London and the 27th in Los Angeles.
