Though KISS has yet to say where they will wrap up their End of the Road tour next year, Gene Simmons dreams of it being in Liverpool.

He tells Internet radio show Planet Rock, “I have dream scenarios in my mind. I don’t have the right to say these words — I’m not qualified to say those words — it’s even semi-sacrilegious, but boy would I love the last time to play (with) very small amps be at The Cavern Club… A tip of my soulful hat to these four guys who came out of Liverpool. The Beatles not only changed my life but gave me a reason…

“Of course, we can’t shine their shoes. We can’t. We can’t! We’re not qualified to walk in their shadows. But ‘homage’ is a good word. My knees would buckle at the thought of playing that very last show, maybe to a group of friends, at The Cavern Club.”

The original Cavern Club, where The Beatles performed close to 300 times in the early ’60s, was demolished in 1973, but a new Cavern Club opened a few doors down in the early ’80s.

Prior to the pandemic, KISS announced that they would finish the tour in their hometown of New York City, which will still most likely be the case.

They wrap up the Australian leg of their End of the Road tour Saturday in Gold Coast. The next U.S. leg starts on September 21st in West Palm Beach, California.
