Peter Frampton has cashed out.
He has sold to BMG the rights to his catalog — publishing interests, songwriting, recording and sideman revenue streams — and neighboring rights spanning his entire career.
This includes his work with Humble Pie and The Herd, along with all the solo hits such as “Show Me the Way.” “Baby, I Love Your Way,” “Do You Feel Like We Do” and “I’m In You.”
Details have not been disclosed, but Frampton says, “I am so pleased to join the BMG family. As an artist-first company, I trust BMG will care for my legacy and that my songs are in good hands.”
Frampton joins a list of artists who have sold their music that includes Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond, Robbie Robertson, Paul Simon, Sting, Richie Sambora, ZZ Top, Blondie, Neil Young, David Crosby and Stephen Stills, as well as the estates of David Bowie, Bob Marley, Whitney Houston and Ray Charles.
