Heart still have plans for a 50th anniversary tour, it’s just been pushed back.
Last year, Ann Wilson said there was “a bunch of stuff planned for [2023 in celebration of their 50th anniversary]. So I can definitely see Heart doing something.”
But we’ve now learned that she and sister Nancy are going on the road next year, which will be 50 years since Nancy joined the band — a year after Ann.
For now, Ann will be on the road in July and August, while Nancy and her band, Nancy Wilson’s Heart, will hit nine cities starting this Wednesday in Niagara Falls, Canada, plus a show in September with Styx in Washington State.
Relations between Ann and sister Nancy have been strained since 2016, when Ann’s husband, Dean Welter, was arrested for assaulting Nancy’s then-16-year-old twin sons backstage during a show in Seattle. He pleaded guilty to two lesser assault charges to avoid jail time.
In February, Heart got a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award during the Special Merit Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles and only Nancy attended.
