Lynyrd Skynyd will celebrate their new whiskey Hell House before they play a couple of homecoming shows in Florida.
Johnny Van Zant and Rickey Medlocke will sign bottles of Hell House — but no other memorabilia — on October 4th at Whitey’s Fish Camp in Fleming Island, Florida. Then on October 4th and 6th the band will play at the St. Augustine Amphitheater in St. Augustine, Florida to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their debut album Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd. That album was released on August 13th, 1973 and contains “Free Bird,” “Tuesday’s Gone” and “Gimme Three Steps.”
In other Skynyrd-related news, Sammy Hagar covers “Simple Man” and Warren Haynes tackles “Saturday Night Special” on Anthems – Honoring the Music of Lynyrd Skynyrd, a tribute album assembled by former Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle. It’s due out on February 2nd.
