Aerosmith‘s Peace Out tour has checked out for the rest of the year.

The band released a statement saying, “Unfortunately, Steven Tyler’s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx, which requires ongoing care…

“Given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential.

“As a result, all the currently scheduled Peace Out shows must be postponed to sometime in 2024, with new dates to be announced as soon as we know more.”

And Tyler has also issued a statement, saying he is “heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers and the incredible Black Crowes [who are opening the tour], rocking with the best fans in the world. I promise we will be back as soon as we can!”

All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend once those dates are announced. Fans with questions regarding refunds should reach out to their point of purchase.

Aerosmith did three shows before Tyler blew his voice out on September 9th in Elmont, New York.

Breaking down on tour is nothing new for Tyler.

  • In 1998 their Nine Lives tour was delayed numerous times due to injuries to him and drummer Joey Kramer.
  • The 2005-2006 Rockin’ the Joint Tour was cut short when Tyler had to undergo throat surgery.
  • Their 2009 tour saw them cancel seven shows when Tyler injured his leg, and then the rest of the tour was canceled after he fell off the stage in Sturgis, South Dakota.
  • The last four shows of their 2017-2018 Aero-Vederci Baby! Tour were canceled when Tyler had to undergo a medical procedure.
  • And last year he found himself back in rehab, which forced the cancellation of the last five shows of their Deuces Are Wild Las Vegas residency.

This is the second major tour to be sidelined for the rest of the year following Bruce Springsteen pulling the plug on his due to treatment for a peptic ulcer.
