James Hetfield says that Lars Ulrich never wanted to rehearse for Metallica shows until recently.
On The Metallica Report podcast, Hetfield was talking about the band’s preparations for last weekend’s Power Trip, specifically about finding a rehearsal space at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California so they could rehearse and then watch the other bands.
Hetfield explained, “An interesting fact: Lars never rehearsed ever until — I don’t know — I’d say maybe four or five years ago, he started really getting into rehearsing. And now he’ll…rehearse four days for a two-hour set, which is what he needs to do, which is awesome.”
