Elton John said one of the reasons he decided to stop touring was because he was tired of schlepping around the world.

But since he brought his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour to an end on July 8th in Stockholm, Sweden, he’s schlepped to perform at the opening of a water park in the Dominican Republic; at a birthday party in Nashville; at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Brooklyn, New York; and Tuesday night in Venice, Italy.

He did a private show for 900 people at the Le Gran Teatro La Fenice opera house on the 20th anniversary of a performance he did to commemorate its reconstruction after a 1996 fire.

Tuesday’s show was organized by yacht company Ferretti Group, and it was a benefit for Save Venice, which works to preserve the city’s artistic heritage.

Elton owns an apartment in Venice.

The 90-minute set featured the hits, including “Rocket Man,” “Your Song,” and “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word.”
