David Lee Roth rants about a wide range of odd topics in his latest YouTube podcast.
It’s titled “The Ballad of Popsicle Sam…” and in it he spins some outrageous tales:
- Sammy Hagar’s story about an encounter with aliens as a teenager means he was “sex probed.” Roth says, “I know that when you’re abducted by aliens you get sex probed. I am compelled to solicit this sordid subject in an effort to explain Sam Hagar’s conduct. For the last 10 summers I haven’t said a single syllable about him… And I think we’ve arrived at both the technical and the medical answer that may explain some of Sammy Hagar’s conduct and his constant spew of diarrhea vitriol in our direction. Sammy Hagar was abducted by aliens and he was sex probed.”
- Alex Van Halen bullied his brother Eddie, and Eddie hated him for it. Roth recalls Eddie telling him, “Dave, I hate my brother, it’s why I drink. Dave, I hate my brother. Give me another beer.” He adds, “Al drove his brother crazy. He’s big bully,” and that booze was the biggest issue between them. “Al weighed about 20 more pounds, drank between two and six six-packs of Schlitz malt tall liquors a day. At the height of his [drinking] they had to put in a special industrial refrigerator in the guest house at Eddie’s studio.”
- Roth spends a whole lot of money on legal weed. Roth explains “I smoke every day. I smoke my body weight. More than the gross national product of most emerging young African nations.” He then gets his business manager on the phone, who confirms that his recent bill for pot from the Silver Lake dispensary is $92,000. Roth added, “The $92,000 pot bill. That’s got to be a record. That’s got to be special. That’s got to be a world record special.”
