Paul McCartney took time out from rehearsing in Los Angeles for his upcoming tour by going to see and joining comedian Deon Cole at the Hollywood Improv.
Cole was working on new material when he brought McCartney on stage.
Introducing him as a “friend,” he said they smoked a joint before the performance.
“I had to smoke and that’s why this is happening,” said Cole. “And y’all mothers did not give no love to me at all tonight.”
McCartney was complimentary, but then zinged Cole, saying, “I’ve just been enjoying you working through this material — and you’re right, some of it bombed.”
