Ringo Starr made his debut at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry on Friday.

Taking the stage in a white cowboy hat like he wears on the cover of his new country album, Look Up, he said, “As you may have noticed I’m dressed up a bit tonight. I’m a cowboy inside, and this is a great honor and an incredible moment for me… This would just be a dream to end up here.”

He also performed three songs. He did both “Time on My Hands” from Look Up, and “Act Naturally” with Molly Tuttle, who sang and played on the album. And he finished with “With a Little Help From My Friends.”

Highlights from Ringo’s two shows last month at another legendary Nashville venue, the Ryman Auditorium, will make up a CBS special, Ringo & Friends at the Ryman, which airs on March 10th. The friends include Sheryl Crow, Jack White, Brenda Lee, Mickey Guyton, Emmylou Harris and others.
