The tinted prescription glasses John Lennon wore in 1973 and ’74 during the time that was dubbed his “Lost Weekend” are headed back to the auction block.
He lost the specs in March 1974 during a fight at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, California when he and an equally drunk Harry Nilsson were escorted out of the club after heckling The Smothers Brothers.
The glasses first sold at auction in 1987 and again in 2008, and now they’re being offered as part of Propstore’s Music Memorabilia Live Auction on October 24th.
They’re estimated to sell for between $200- and $400,000. Details at PropstoreAuction.com.
