Neil Young has another album coming through his archives.
Backed by Crazy Horse, it’s titled Hard Luck Stories and he says it was “recorded live in a small San Francisco club (Trocadero) in 1997. This is a must hear for every Crazy Horse fan. If you think you have heard the Horse, think again! Turn it up. Massive guitars, bass and drums, and unheard Crazy Horse classic songs.” The eight songs are:
- Hard Luck Stories
- Slip Away
- Big Time
- Razor Love
- Hippie Dream
- Truth Be Known
- I’m the Ocean
- Don’t Be Denied
Young, in a pitch for his website, goes onto say, “This is what Neil Young Archives is all about. Amazing unheard performances of songs rarely if ever played live. You are there with a crowd 200 people. The vibe is amazing in that club.”
“[My engineer] Niko [Bolas] and I have been working on this for a couple of weeks and it is a pure joy to hear the Horse live…
“When I found this I was blown away. I am speechless when I hear this. I am about to send it to Billy [Talbot], Ralph [Molina] and Poncho (Frank Sampedro) to blow their minds. I know it will. Then you will get it, right here at NYA!”
He adds that he hopes to release it later this year or next as part of Neil Young Archives Volume 4.
