It’s a busy time for Gregg Allman‘s estate.
In addition to a documentary on his life and career, Gregg Allman: Music of My Soul, hitting theaters this summer, there is another archival concert release.
Great As Ever: Live In Philadelphia ’86 was captured on January 11th of that year at the Chestnut Cabaret. Among the 12 songs are “I’m No Angel,” “It’s Not My Cross to Bear,” “Melissa,” which Allman dedicated to his then-estranged Allman Brothers bandmate Dickey Betts, “Queen of Hearts,” “Midnight Rider” and “Trouble No More.”
It will be released on April 10th, and to preview the album, the instrumental “Don’t Want You No More” is out now on all digital streaming platforms and streaming services, including YouTube.
