Although Jeff Lynne is bringing his version of ELO to an end this summer with five shows in his native England, he’s not retiring.
He tells Mojo magazine, “I am happy with what I’ve done, and the crowd reactions to the shows and the music have been amazing. This is not a farewell to music. I am excited to return to the studio full-time, which is what I love!”
Lynne’s last album was Long Wave in 2012.
In ELO news, “Mr. Blue Sky” has surpassed a billion streams on Spotify. Lynne says, “Thanks to all of you for making this happen for me. It means so much.”
Lynne will play his final ELO show on July 13th at London’s Hyde Park.
