In April, when it was announced that Bad Company were elected for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, drummer Simon Kirke told us he discussed performing at the ceremony with Paul Rodgers, suggesting that they do “Can’t Get Enough,” their first single, which was written by their now late guitarist Mick Ralphs. Kirke quickly recanted due to the uncertainty of Rodgers being able to perform due to some health issues.
But now, just over two weeks before the Induction Ceremony on November 8th in Los Angeles, Rodgers is not saying no to the possibility of performing, telling Rolling Stone, “Well, they want us to, and I may. I haven’t decided what songs to sing at this point in time. But it could be ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy.'”
As for taking the podium to accept the honor, he says, “I’m a little bit nervous. If we’ve got to make a speech, I’ll be quite honest, I’m not used to really making speeches of any nature, but I’ll be okay.”
Joining Bad Company in the Class of 2025 are Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Soundgarden, The White Stripes, Salt-N-Pepa, Warren Zevon, Nicky Hopkins, Chubby Checker and Carol Kaye.
