Rod Stewart was named an Honorary Guest of the City of Buenos Aires following his three shows there last week in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to global music and culture. Stewart said, “I’ve been fortunate to perform all over the world, but I have never received an honor like this before. Buenos Aires, you’ve truly made me feel at home. These three nights have been unforgettable – the passion, the energy, the voices. This is one of the best audiences I’ve ever had. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. And of course, it’s always a thrill to be in the country that gave us [soccer greats Lionel] Messi and [Diego] Maradona.” In case you don’t know, Stewart is a huge soccer fan.
