Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham celebrates his 69th birthday today (March 17th). Ironically, the American guitarist in the Irish band was the one born on St. Patrick’s Day. One of their most popular songs “Jailbreak” was never a hit. It reminds guitarist Scott Gorham of strange coincidence during a contest to promote it. What comes to mind is a contest the band’s label ran in connection with the song and album. As Gorham tells it, its winner was someone who was actually a prison inmate at the time.
